Cadet Class II-12

Starting Cadets: 150
(CTC IV-12 Week 22) Remaining Cadets: 89

Another challenging week has passed by for CTC IV-12. We are becoming more focused and dedicated in trying to prepare ourselves for the field. Week 22 started with both companies having our final Physical Fitness Test. It was amazing to see how far we have come along physically. The Physical Training Staff may be tough, but there is no denying that they get results. The week wrapped up with our Collision Investigation examination, a practical test which takes over eight hours to complete. Every Cadet was back on Saturday morning to participate in our Community Project, where we go to a worthwhile organization which contributes to our community and assist them in various duties or often physical labor. It was a great experience for everyone, and we appreciated the opportunity to help.

CTC IV-12 had a big week as Company A got things going in a big way. It was time to get a taste of how all of the training we have received thus far would eventually come together in the field. Scenario testing began and Company A rose to the challenge and were quick to realize that things that can occur in this profession are not like what we have seen on TV. While Company A was busy working the Academy beat, Company B was getting ready for DUI and Spanish certifications. Company B was tested and practiced their Field Sobriety Tests in a Wet lab and was certified in Spanish language. Soon, we all will be ready for the road and look forward to face the next challenge.

CTC IV-12 had one of the most painful and challenging weeks so far. This week we completed shotgun and rifle qualifications, and both companies were exposed to OC spray. It was an experience we will all remember forever. Company A finished off the week with Taser training, and were shocked to discover how effective the device was. With scenario training and testing just around the corner, we are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. As we finish each week our bond as a class gets stronger. We thank all of our friends, family, and staff for all their support.
