DRE Program: Recertification

To assist Law Enforcement Agencies with the required DRE recertification training, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Academy has developed a recertification class complete with video of actual DRE evaluations. For agencies with a DRE instructor who wish to conduct their own recertification class, materials and videos are available upon request from the CHP DRE Unit at (916) 376-3206.

Recertification Qualifications

Once again, DRE recertification will be available at the Year 2008 California Narcotics Officers Association (CNOA) Conference. Class will be held on Friday, October 31, the day before the opening day of the conference. The CNOA conference will be November 1-4, 2008, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, in San Diego, CA.

DRE's shall bring a current resume, rolling log and copies of four evaluations log to class.
They must also bring their POST number for POST credit.
