2008 Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be hosting a Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit on August 19 - 21, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Hotel, located at 1107 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, California, 92660.

This summit will focus on past practice effectiveness, communication and interaction between government and the transportation industry. The intent of this summit is to address those practices which have been ineffective; identify the effective interface actions between government and industry; and determine milestones for operation, legislation and funding issues for the future as they pertain to commercial vehicle safety and security oversight.

During the summit, the CHP, in conjunction with other state and federal agencies, will host individual sessions discussing several topics of concern to the motor carrier industry. During each session, representatives from these agencies can respond directly to your concerns.
