Accident Investigation Unit - Training

Field Services Section: Accident Investigation Unit - Training

The Accident Investigation (AI) Training Program staff within Field Services Section is responsible for the coordination, implementation and support of all post-Academy out-service AI training. The following training programs are currently included:

  • Techniques of Accident Investigation Training-I (TAIT-I)
    (Formerly known as Techniques of Accident Investigation Training)
  • Techniques of Accident Investigation Training-II (TAIT-II)
    (Formerly known as Advanced Accident Investigation)
  • Traffic Accident Reconstruction-I (TAR-I)
  • Traffic Accident Reconstruction-II (TAR-II)

The AI training staff is charged with the development of additional training classes, manuals and guides relating to AI. Classes for AI Review officers and sergeants are currently in the planning stage.

The AI training staff also contributes to the maintenance of the Collision Investigation Manual (CIM), HPM 40.50, and is available to answer technical questions relating to the CIM.
