The Safety Services Unit (SSU) coordinates the collection of crime and incident reports, via the STD. 99, Report of Crimes on State Property Missing/Lost Property, for the Safety Services Program. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is responsible for ensuring STD. 99's are completed, and information is entered into the Crime Incident Reporting System (CIRS) database, for all crimes and incidents occurring on state property. Divisions have designated specific offices as data-entry points. Completed STD. 99's are forwarded to these offices for inclusion in the CIRS database, thus enabling the SSU to generate statistical reports for the CHP, other state agencies, and the State Legislature when necessary.
The Safety Services Unit may be contacted via Field Support Section at (916) 445-0752.
