OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2021/2022 GRANT CYCLE

Toxicology Laboratory

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) announces state grant funding through the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program (CTFGP),

for a 24-month grant cycle. 

Toxicology grant funds shall be used by the Grantee(s) to improve and advance the standardization of practices in toxicology laboratories supporting driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and other drugs, including cannabis and cannabis products.

These projects shall aid in the enforcement of laws related to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and other drugs, including cannabis and cannabis products. 

Eligible Applicant

Local Government (California county and/or city crime laboratories) as defined in California Code of Regulations (CCR) Section 1890.00.

Law Enforcement
The CHP announces state grant funding through the CTFGP for a 12-month grant cycle.

Law Enforcement grant funds shall be used by the Grantee(s) for training, education, prevention, and the enforcement of laws related to DUI of alcohol and other drugs, including cannabis and cannabis products.

Eligible Applicant
Law Enforcement as defined in CCR Section 1890.00.

Application Review/Scoring

Determinations for funding will be based on current safety trends and the projects that will have the greatest ability to reduce instances of DUI of alcohol and drugs, including cannabis and cannabis products.

Grants will be awarded based on highest score and will undergo a two-stage review process.

    • Administrative Review shall determine if an applicant is an eligible organization in accordance with CCR Section 1890.10.

    • A panel shall score and rank each application deemed compliant in accordance with CCR Section 1890.11.  Scores will be given based on specific benefits of the individual projects and clarity of the application in accordance with CCR Section 1890.12.

NOTE:  Failure to submit any required attachment or complete all required application components shall make the proposal incomplete.  Incomplete applications will not be scored or considered for funding.
