The Grapevine Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (G.C.V.E.F.) is located in Kern County approximately 1 hour north of Los Angeles located on Interstate 5. The current location of our facility in respects to Interstate 5 is one of the most frequent traveled freeways in the United States and a major thoroughfare between northern and southern California. Currently, an average of 85,000 motor vehicles pass our facility on an everyday basis with 30% of those vehicles being commercial vehicles. Our facility is staffed by CHP officers and civilian Commercial Vehicle Inspection Specialists dedicated to the safety of the motoring public. To ensure the safety of the motoring public, we are dedicated to a rigorous enforcement program applying state and federal laws to commercial vehicle operation.
