The California Highway Patrol Los Banos Area is located near the geographical center of California. The Crossroads of California describes Los Banos because State Highways 33, 165 and 152 all pass through the area and Interstate 5 is six, miles to the west. The Los Banos Area has patrol responsibility covering approximately 1300 square miles.
