​​As of August 3, 2015 the CHP will be accepting applications on a continuous basis.  During the first exam code (XX161) under this system, the beginning date for accepting applications for each division will be staggered. After the first eight weeks, applications will be open all the time. Please note the time period and division you apply to will dictate when you test. ​ ​

 


Steps to Success:

 

  1. Get familiar with the CHP map link so you understand our division locations.

  2. Look at the cadet test schedule before you apply. You will need to know testing dates for your division.

  3. If you haven’t already done so, create a CHP account (only one per person). Make a note of your exact user name and password.

  4. Log in using your user name and password; then click on Apply for Open Examinations.

  5. Read the instructions and information carefully.

  6. Everyone who meets the minimum requirements and completes the online application properly will get a chance to test.
