Border Division encompasses the southernmost part of California and is comprised of twelve Area Commands, five Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facilities, two Traffic Management Centers, two Communication Centers, and two Air Operations units. Each of these departmental resources are strategically located throughout the four different counties encompassing our jurisdiction. This ensures we provide the highest level of Safety, Service and Security to those communities. Border Division has a committed workforce that consists of approximately 1,000 uniformed and 310 non-uniformed employees, 61 Public Safety Dispatchers, 9 Public Safety Operators, and numerous senior volunteers and explorers.

Border Division encompasses busy metropolitan areas, mountainous communities, as well as rural desert areas that bring daily challenges to the motoring public. Over a span of more than 9,300 square miles, Border Division proudly serves more than 6.8 million people of varied cultures, ethnicities, religions and socio-economic levels who reside within its geographical boundaries. Southern California is a major tourist attraction and hosts a variety of events year-round at the numerous theme parks in San Diego and Orange Counties. These events ultimately result in drastic increases with traffic volumes and transient population growth. Border Division is also home to the largest U.S. armed services population within the country.

Our Division continuously strives to provide superior law enforcement services to the millions of motorists navigating the various interstates, state routes, highways and county roads. Additionally, our staff provides numerous educational programs to the public. These are accomplished through community events, various safety presentations and child passenger safety education. Border Division is proud to serve the millions who travel our roadways and promises to continue to live up to the high standard set forth by the people of California.
