CHP explorers are an integral part the Department's operations and are provided many and varied opportunities to train, prepare, and experience the duties of one of the best law enforcement agencies of the world. There are many opportunities to assist the community by attending events and passing along safety information. Explorers will participate in training sessions, ride along with officers, assist with DUI checkpoints, and attend explorer competitions locally and throughout the nation.
The Santa Barbara CHP Explorer Post 760 is continuously seeking motivated applicants between the ages of 15 to 21. The volunteer hours are tracked and can be used for college applications.
