The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Rancho Cucamonga Area is proud to serve the Inland Empire providing safety, service, and security to thousands of residents, commuters, and tourists each day. As a part of the CHP’s Inland Division, our office patrols over 250 square miles of freeways and unincorporated roadways in and around the cities of Chino, Chino Hills, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Mt. Baldy, and San Antonio Heights.

We offer a number of traffic safety programs aimed at keeping you and your loved ones safe on the road and on the highways. Contact our office for information on how to safely buckle kids in their safety seats, teach new drivers the challenges of the road, and learn some tips on how to avoid collisions, safe driving habits, and consequences of a poor choice behind the wheel of a vehicle.

You can help us by driving defensively, obeying the posted speeds, not driving distracted, and being courteous to other drivers. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website, click Programs and Services tab above to learn more about the many traffic safety programs the CHP offers.

A Message from the Captain

On behalf of the dedicated men and women of the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga Area, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Web page. Within this site, you will find helpful information about our Area, its structure, its services, and the men and women that serve your local communities.
The Rancho Cucamonga Area has a diverse workforce comprised of 64 sworn officers, 10 civilian members and 20 explorers. Every member is dedicated and responsible for providing the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security to the public, businesses, and visitors. Department personnel are paramount assets and through them we strive for excellence and professionalism through partnerships within our community, government entities, and allied agencies. We are constantly developing and participating in proactive community-based strategies in order to promote safe, vital, and healthy communities. You have entrusted us with the education of traffic safety issues, enforcement of laws and regulations, and implementation of additional safety programs. Public Trust is paramount to the relationship we have with the community and are continued dedication to growing the friendship between the CHP and the public. To demonstrate that we deserve your trust, we voluntarily submitted to an external, objective evaluation of departmental operations by the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Our Department, Academy, and Communications Centers are proud to be internationally accredited through the CALEA Accreditation Program.

Whether you are traveling on the freeway or visiting the local Department of Motor Vehicles, CHP officers are on patrol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We seek your comments and concerns. You can contact us by calling the Rancho Cucamonga Area office at (909) 980-3994.
