Language Access

It is the policy of the CHP to ensure all persons are provided equal access to available services, programs, and activities, and are treated by CHP employees with professionalism, sensitivity, dignity, and respect, while assisting the needs of the public it serves. 

The CHP Provides the following at no cost to you:

  • Interpreters
    • Bilingual employees
    • Over the phone interpreters
    • ASL Interpreters can be scheduled with advanced notice
  • Printable Visor Card for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Communication
  • Translated documents
    • Many CHP forms and pamphlets are translated and available upon request
  • Translation assistance with documents not available in your language
    • If a document is not available in your language
      • A bilingual CHP employee may assist you, if one is available, or by utilizing an over the phone interpreter

The CHP provides effective communication consistent with the Dymally-Alatorre Bilingual Services Act, to all people utilizing its public services. If you do not receive the language assistance you need, you may file a language access complaint at any CHP location, through email, by mail, or by phone utilizing the CHP 240E, Language Access Complaint form.
