The Border Division Recruitment Unit hosts Recruitment Seminars which are open to current and potential future applicants. These Recruitment Seminars are an open house environment where we discuss the career options and opportunities available within the California Highway Patrol, as well as lend our professional insight into ways to improve applicant success during the application process, and later the California Highway Patrol Academy. Applicant Preparation Program (APP)
Individuals who submit their application for employment will receive email invitations to Border Division Applicant Preparation Program Seminars (APP) and Workshops. The Border Division Recruitment Unit Applicant Preparation Program (APP) is focused on providing insight and training to our applicants with a series of Seminars, Workshops, and Workouts designed to train our applicants preparing for our entry-level exams [Physical Abilities Test (PAT) & Written POST PELLET-B Exam] as well as applicants that have passed the exam phase and are preparing for the California Highway Patrol Academy. In order to register for Border Division Applicant Preparation Program (APP) Seminars, Workshops and Workouts, please submit an application online. Applicants will then begin to receive invitations to Seminars, Workshops, and Workouts within approximately 10 days through an event planning website called Eventbrite.
Attendees shall wear appropriate athletic workout attire free of any large logos or inappropriate material. However, Applicants are encouraged to wear solid dark blue t-shirts. Attendees should bring necessary items such as a workout towel and proper hydration.
First-time attendees of the APP Workouts are required to print out, complete, and bring with them to workout, the
Applicant Preparation Program (APP) Waiver Applicants will not be allowed to participate without having a form on file.
