Golden Gate Division (Vallejo) Seminars and Events

​APP Workouts

The Golden Gate Division Recruitment Team will be conducting Workouts as a part of the Applicant Preparation Program (APP) on selected Wednesday's and Saturday's in Vallejo. These workouts are designed to assist individuals to prepare for the CHP Physical Abilities Test (PAT). The duration of each workout is approximately 2 hours respectively.
Attendees shall wear appropriate athletic workout attire free of any large logos or inappropriate material. However, Applicants are encouraged to wear solid dark blue t-shirts.  Attendees should bring necessary items such as a workout towel and proper hydration .

First-time attendees of the APP Workouts are required to print out, complete, and bring with them to workout, the
Applicant Preparation Program (APP) Waiver, applicants will not be allowed to participate without having a form on file.

APP Recruitment Seminars

​The Golden Gate Division Recruitment Team will be conducting Recruitment Seminars as a part of the Applicant Preparation Program (APP). Seminar topics include but are not limited to: the application process, life at the CHP academy, a typical day as a CHP Officer, variety of Officer Positions within the CHP and many more. Following the presentation, attendees are encouraged to ask any questions they have about a career with the CHP.

APP Written Exam Workshops

The Golden Gate Division Recruitment Team will be conducting Written Exam Workshops as a part of the Applicant Preparation Program (APP) throughout the year. The written exam workshop will be hosted by Professor Stevie Daniels and will focus on the components of the Peace Officer Entry Level Law Enforcement Exam Test Battery (POST PELLET B). Attendees are encouraged to bring note taki​ng materials and a writing utensil. Attendees shall wear appropriate business casual attire.

 The Central Division Recruitment Unit hosts several seminars as part of the Applicant Preparation Program. Once an applicant has applied to become a Cadet, you will begin to receive emails inviting you to several workshops. These workshops are designed to help applicants throughout the hiring process. APP Workouts

The Central Division Recruitment Team will be conducting Workouts as a part of the Applicant Preparation Program (APP). These workouts are held throughout the Valley in (four general areas, Modesto, Fresno, Visalia, and Bakersfield). These workouts are designed to assist individuals prepare for the CHP Physical Abilities Test (PAT) for Cadet, and prepare for the CHP academy. The duration of each workout is approximately 2 hours respectively.

         Recruitment Seminars

The Border Division Recruitment Unit hosts Recruitment Seminars which are open to current and potential future applicants. These Recruitment Seminars are an open house environment where we discuss the career options and opportunities available within the California Highway Patrol, as well as lend our professional insight into ways to improve applicant success during the application process, and later the California Highway Patrol Academy. In order to attend a Recruitment Seminar please email your name, telephone number, and the date/location of the Seminar you plan to attend to Border Division Recruitment Officers at chpborderrecruitment@chp.ca.gov

Applicant Preparation Program (APP)

Individuals who submit their application for employment will receive email invitations to Border Division Applicant Preparation Program Seminars (APP) and Workshops. The Border Division Recruitment Unit Applicant Preparation Program (APP) is focused on providing insight and training to our applicants with a series of Seminars, Workshops, and Workouts designed to train our applicants preparing for our entry-level exams [Physical Abilities Test (PAT) & Written POST PELLET-B Exam] as well as applicants that have passed the exam phase and are preparing for the California Highway Patrol Academy. In order to register for Border Division Applicant Preparation Program (APP) Seminars, Workshops and Workouts, please submit an application online. Applicants will then begin to receive invitations to Seminars, Workshops, and Workouts within approximately 10 days through an event planning website called Eventbrite.

PELLET B).  Attendees are encouraged to bring note taking material and a writing utensil.  Attendees shall wear appropriate business casual attire.
