The Newhall CHP Explorer Post 540 proudly serves the Santa Clarita Valley. The CHP explorer post program allows young men and women, ages 15-21, to be an important part of the department's operations, and experience what a career in law enforcement will be like. The objective of this program is to teach integrity, commitment and responsibility. The ultimate goal of the Explorer program is to make leaders that may better serve their communities.
Through the program, Explorers attend training sessions, work in the CHP area office, ride along with patrol officers, participate in community events, assist in D.U.I. checkpoints, traffic control and attend Explorer competitions. Explorers develop a strong bond with their colleges in the post that will motivate them through-out their lives.
