The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Contra Costa Area is proud to serve the Contra Costa County region providing safety, service, and security to over 1 million residents, commuters, and tourists each day. As part of the CHP’s Golden Gate Division, our office patrols Interstate 680, State Route 4, State Route 24, State Route 242, and all unincorporated county roadways. We offer a number of programs aimed at keeping you safe on the road and on the highway. Contact our office for information on how to safely buckle your children in their car seats, teach new drivers the challenge of the road, or learn some tips for driving at night, in bad weather, and in high volume traffic. You can help us by driving defensively and safely, obeying the posted speed limit, giving enough room between you and the car ahead of you, using your turn indicators, and being courteous on the road. You can follow us on Twitter: CHP – Contra Costa @320PIO or friend us on Facebook: CHP - Contra Costa. To enroll in our upcoming traffic safety classes and events go to chp-bayarea.eventbrite.com.
