Nimitz Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (CVEF) is proud to serve Alameda County providing safety, service, and security by monitoring the commercial industry. As part of the CHP’s Golden Gate Division, our office is adjacent to northbound Interstate 880 at the southern end of Alameda County. The Nimitz CVEF’s focus is to reduce truck involved traffic collisions, due to mechanical defects.
The Facility assists the local CHP Area offices within its demographic region to meet the needs of the community they serve by providing commercial enforcement services, education, and training both at the local and state levels. The primary mission of the Department’s Commercial Enforcement Program is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles on the California highway system; therefore it is imperative that traffic collisions and incidents attributed to mechanical defects, driver qualifications, or excessive driving hours, be reduced.
