Placer County has a population of approximately 355,687 and land area of 1,506 square miles. We are located in diverse Northern California, bordering Sacramento, Nevada and El Dorado Counties. Over half of beautiful Placer County is National Forest and State Park property offering wild and scenic rivers, breathtaking streams, valley views, and mountain vistas. Lower elevations include grasslands, gold rush era-town sites and gently rolling hills. Two major highways, Interstate 80 and State Route 49, intersect the city of Auburn. State Route 65, which leads north from Interstate 80, allows travelers to access the growing cities of Roseville, Rocklin and
Lincoln and continue further North toward Yuba-Sutter Counties.
