The Crescent City Area of the California Highway Patrol is responsible for patrolling the Redwood Coast through Del Norte County.
As part of the CHP’s Northern Division, our office patrols US-101, US-199, State Route 197, State Route 169, and more than 300 miles of unincorporated county roadways, and serves 28,000 residents of Del Norte County. The Crescent City Area offers a number of programs dedicated to improving the safety of motorists and pedestrians along the highways.
