​Located in Northern California, Clear Lake is home to the largest natural lake within California’s borders, offering residents and visitors alike, beautiful scenery and a vast array of outdoor recreational activities.

The Clear Lake Area CHP is dedicated to the California Highway Patrol’s primary mission of providing the highest level of safety, service and security to the people of California. The Clear Lake Area serves the community of reducing traffic collisions and fatality rates through its primary responsibility of traffic law enforcement and the investigation of traffic collisions. It also works closely with the other law enforcement agencies of Lake County to respond to the needs of the public.

The Clear Lake Area is responsible for 1256 miles of roadway, which includes all state highways (SR-20, SR-29, SR-53, and SR-175) and unincorporated roadways within Lake County. It is a major corridor that connects to US-101 and Interstate 5.
