The Dunsmuir Grade Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (DGCVEF) has spent the last several decades providing quality service through education and enforcement. Additionally, quality service is provided by conducting commercial vehicle inspections and driver screenings for impairment and fatigue. With just two percent of California's population, the economy in Northern Division is based on agriculture, ranching, wood products, and an array of recreational activities. The commercial enforcement program is tasked with ensuring the efficient movement of interstate commerce while maintaining the highest level of safety possible.
DGCVEF is vigilant in sustaining a constant level of commercial enforcement focused on safety and service to the motoring public.
The Commander, sergeants, officers, Commercial Vehicle Inspection Specialists (CVIS), and clerical staff fully recognize their respective roles and responsibilities towards upholding the Department’s Mission Statement, and supporting our Strategic Plan goals. CVISs inspect commercial vehicles and screen drivers without compromise, in accordance with North American Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance standards and departmental policy. Sergeants and officers are highly trained and take appropriate enforcement action in accordance with applicable laws, codes and regulations. Our clerical staff maintains the continuity of our operation by ensuring reports, time keeping and other administrative duties are completed with accuracy and timeliness.
