The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Humboldt Communications Center is situated on the northern coast of Humboldt Del Norte Counties and northern Mendocino counties. The Humboldt Communications Center (HCC) provides safety, service and security to residents and visitors to the region each day. As part of the CHP’s Northern Division, HCC provides critical radio communications and cellular 911 emergency services along the US101, US199 and State Route 299 as well as hundreds of miles of unincorporated county roadways and serves 186,000 residents throughout the region. HCC coordinates law enforcement service and quick response to the rural communities of Willow Creek, Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation, Covelo Indian Reservation and surrounding areas that include State Route 96, State Route 169 and State Route 162. HCC operates 24 hours / 7 days a week. HCC staff provides assistance and emergency services to all cellular 911 incidents within the region. HCC staff on-duty is able to provide road information, traffic updates and general information to assist the motoring public in a safe and secure driving experience.
