The Red Bluff CHP office is excited to announce, as of January 2015, it has started an Explorer Post. Red Bluff CHP Post #130 is currently training four young women and six young men to work in the CHP office, ride along with patrol officers, participate in community events, and attend Explorer competitions state- wide. All of this is geared toward preparing them for a successful career in the CHP. The Explorer program provides young men and women an opportunity to see the inner workings of the CHP and to make lifelong friendships.
If you are interested in a career in law enforcement, are 15-20 years old, have at least a 2.0 GPA, no drug or alcohol use, are a good citizen and have no felony convictions, please contact the Explorer Post Advisor at the Red Bluff CHP office at (530) 527-2034.
This quarter has been a busy one for the Red Bluff Area Explorer Post! First we promoted an Explorer Sergeant to become the Posts first Explorer Lieutenant and also promoted two Explorers to the rank of Explorer Sergeant. Explorers participated in a multiple Agency training and team building exercise conducted at U. S. Airsoft with 50 Explorers from surrounding areas and Departments. During the busy holiday season the Red Bluff Area Explorers volunteered many hours collecting and distributing toys for the “Chips for Kids” program as well as other programs benefiting Tehama County. Red Bluff Explorer Post 130 is currently planning a Level I and Level II Academy class scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. We have four new applicants preparing for this challenge with room for more. The continuing members of Post 130 are training in preparation for the upcoming Statewide Explorer Competition.
