(580) West Valley

​​The West Valley Explorer Post 580 has been serving the San Fernando Valley since the early 1990's. The CHP Explorer program allows young men and women ages 15-21 to be an integral part of the department's operations, and experience what a career in law enforcement will be like. The objective of this program is to teach leadership, integrity, commitment and responsibility so that they may better serve their communities.

 

Through the program, Explorers attend training sessions, work in the CHP area office, ride along with patrol officers, participate in community events, assist in D.U.I. checkpoints, traffic control and attend Explorer competitions.
