(460) Merced

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Merced Area 460 Explorer Post was re-instated as of July 2014. The Explorer program will provide young men and women the opportunity to partake in the inner workings of the CHP, and enjoy the camaraderie of being an organization dedicated to public service. Through the program, participants attend training sessions, work in the CHP office, ride around with patrol officers, participate in community events, and attend explorer competitions. All of this is geared to instill integrity, leadership, commitment, and responsibility to young men and women, and better prepare them to meet the challenge of the future. The CHP Merced Area Explorer Post is continuously seeking applicants for the program.
For further information, please contact CHP Merced Area office at (209) 356-6600 or stop by the office at 1500 Bell Drive in Atwater, CA during business hours and ask to speak to an Explorer Advisor.
