The first Explorer Post in the history of the CHP office in Clear Lake CA was established in July 1998. Since its inception, the Explorer program has provided young men and women an opportunity to partake of the inner workings of the CHP, and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of an organization dedicated to public service. Through the program, participants attend training sessions, work in the CHP office, ride along with patrol officers, participate in community events, and attend Explorer competitions. All of this is geared to instill leadership, commitment, integrity, and responsibility to young men and women, and better prepare them to meet the challenges of the future.
The Clear Lake Area Explorer Post is continuously seeking motivated applicants for the program. For further information, please contact the CHP Clear Lake Area Office at (707) 279-0103 or stop by the office at 5700 Live Oak Drive, Kelseyville, CA 95451 in Clear Lake during business hours and ask to speak with an Explorer Advisor.
