(151) Clear Lake

​The first Explorer Post in the history of the CHP office in Clear Lake CA was established in July 1998. Since its inception, the Explorer program has provided young men and women an opportunity to partake of the inner workings of the CHP, and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of an organization dedicated to public service. Through the program, participants attend training sessions, work in the CHP office, ride along with patrol officers, participate in community events, and attend Explorer competitions. All of this is geared to instill leadership, commitment, integrity, and responsibility to young men and women, and better prepare them to meet the challenges of the future.

The Clear Lake Area Explorer Post is continuously seeking motivated applicants for the program. ​2nd Quarter 2017

TODAY POST 151 HAD OUR ANNUAL UNIFORM INSPECTION. IN ATTENDANCE WAS THE LOCAL CHP COMMANDER LEUITENANT H. PAREDES #10583 WHO LEAD THE EXPLORERS THROUGH A "MOCK" CAT 10 UNIFORM INSPECTION. AFTER COMPLETION OF OUR UNIFORM INSPECTION, POST 151 PRACTIECED MARCHING AND RECERTIFIED IN OUR PHYSICAL METHODS OF ARREST.

1st Quarter 2017

TODAY WE REVIEWED PMA AND DUI. THE NEW EXPLORERS GOT TO LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY ARREST AND SEARCH. IN ADDITION WE HELPED TRAIN CLEARLAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT EXPLORERS ON FELONY STOP AND PT.

WE REVIEWED PMA AND DUI. IN ADDITION WE LEARNED HOW TO PROPERLY CARRY AND PLACE INJURED OFFICERS INTO A PATROL VEHICLE BOTH SOLO AND WITH A PARTNER WHILE PROPERLY PROVIDING COVER.  

ON THIS DATE EXPLORERS POST 151 FROM CLEAR LAKE HAD THEIR FIRST MEETING FOR THE YEAR OF 2017. WE STARTED OFF THE NEW YEAR WEARING OUR CLASS A UNIFORMS. WE BEGAN THE MEETING BY TAKING A TEST AND COMPLETING LEVEL ONE. WE HAD OUR UNIFORMS INSPECTED BY OUR ADVISORS AND GOT OUR PICTURES TAKEN. WHILE HAVING OUR UNIFORMS INSPECTED WE LEARNED ABOUT STANDING AT ATTENTION AND SUCH.
 
AT THIS MEETING WE DID FITNESS TESTING, PMA TESTING, AND LEARNED ABOUT HOW TO GET YOUR WOUNDED OR UNCONSCIOUS PARTNER INTO SAFETY AND AWAY FROM THE LINE OF FIRE OR ANY DANGER. FOR THE FITNESS TEST WE WERE TESTED ON PUSH UPS, SIT-UPS, LEG LIFTS, JUDO PUSH-UPS, MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS, AND MORE. FOR PMA WE WERE TESTED ON PROPER SEARCHING AND ARRESTING TECHNIQUES.
