(670) Westminster

Since 2012, CHP Westminster has been recruiting and training CHP Explorers with the goal of becoming successful CHP Cadets and officers. As Explorers, young adults attend weekly training meetings, go on ride-alongs, assist at DUI checkpoints, assist clerical staff at the office, and attend multiple competitions throughout the state. Our cadets learn police tactics, procedures, and radio codes; more importantly, they learn self-confidence, teamwork, professionalism, and community service. For more information regarding becoming an Explorer with the Westminster Area, please contact the Westminster CHP office at (714) 892-4426.

2016 Fourth Quarter Activity Summary:

In September of 2016, Post 670 competed in the Riverside Police Department Explorer Competition. Competing against other local Explorer Posts, our Explorers finished in second place in Building Search. We were proud to send one of our Explorers to the CHP Academy at the start of this year, as he continues on his goal of becoming a CHP Officer. Our Explorers assisted officers on ride-alongs and our office staff with administrative duties, while continuously training on various police procedures and tactics for future competitions.
